the colour purple

The colour purple is a very significant colour in my life. It stands for the many aspects of my identity and provides me with solace, especially in current times where things are tough and only getting tougher. Historically, purple has been used by movements against oppression, as a sign of solidarity and resistance. On Wednesday, it was International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the first day of 16 days of activism against gender-based violence across the world. To mark this, I wanted to create a look using purple to represent difference, energy, depth and strength and to acknowledge all the amazing people fighting to end violence against women and girls. #16days #endingVAWG
